News Media Workshop Project
Also known as XETV, San Diego 6 changed it's name to "San Diego 6 - The CW" in 2008 when they became affiliated with the CW network. The CW is popularly know for having hit T.V. shows such as Arrow, The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl and much more! In our interview with an Multi-Media Journalist at San Diego 6 - The CW, we were informed that "there are CW shows played on [the] channel so...ratings come from that as well." San Diego 6 News at 10 and, San Diego Living and Wake up San Diego are the news reports that are aired during their respective times. CW shows are aired in between those programs and News Report and viewers can get times for the shows through a link on the News Network's site. There is also an extensive chart dedicated to the time slots allocated to shows throughout the day on the San Diego 6 website. Viewers can click onto the "What's On" page and search for the times of their favorite shows as well as read brief summaries about other programs as well.

The Affiliates
In addition, “CNN is [their] affiliate” so they “are allowed to use to their videos” and clips from news stories that they physically cannot get to. News stories about political figures, international incidents or exclusive interview materiel can be accessed by the network via CNN.

An example of this is the South Korea Ferry Incident, a news story that San Diego 6 was able to cover using the information and footage obtained from CNN.
